Lot 380		Oversize Silver Gelatin Print of A Pensive Lady, c. Late 19th Century. 17 3/8 x 11½", on cardstock, full bleed, some silvering. A right-profile portrait of a lady with white hair, dressed in dark clothing and a widow's cap, with a white scarf tied at her neck. She is seated at a table, on which some documents are spread. Her left arm is propped on the table against the left side of her face and she stares straight ahead. A portrait of a man hangs on the wall, probably her late husband. Beautiful aquatint of a view of New York City and Harbor as seen from Weehawken, New Jersey, a popular vantage point for early views of the city. With details of 19th Century New York including many architecturally splendid churches, the tallest at the southern end of the island being Trinity Church. Strong plate impression. 15 x 18" modestly framed to 19¼ x 23¼. In fine condition, with exceptional and lovely colors We note a minor contusion and very minor soiling in bottom white borders, but the image is wonderful. Recently passed and beloved painter, sculptor and author Charles Bragg (1931-2017) has been called America's "foremost social satire artist." Widely exhibited in museums and galleries, Bragg's art has been commissioned by countless magazines documented in a PBS program. Offered are a pair of signed and limited edition lithos that very much compliment each other. The horizontal work is entitle "The Fifth Day" part of his "Creation Series" Here you can see him assembling the creatures of the air and sea….and of note the serpent, the apple. Lithograph is #20 of 300, titled and signed by Bragg. Colors are vivid, crow has small red mark below crows' eye. Litho is large, 14 x 20" and famed and matted to 24 x 28". The other is "The Court Jester" and a major favorite of his fans. Colors vivid, 20 x 14" and framed and matted to 25 x 22. Both have frames have minor scuffs. Lot 387		City of Washington, View beyond the Navy Yards -- Currier & Ives. Color engraving showing Washington from the south bank of the Anacostia River. On the right is the Washington Navy Yard, which was established in 1799. Behind is the original Capitol Building and to the left is the White House. Currier & Ives is at lower left. Some dampstains visible on outer edges of border. Print is 11½ x 15¼". Framed to 13¾ x 18" in contemporary wood frame, which has numerous scrapes and nicks. (Painted by George Cooke; engraved by W. Lot 388		The Patrons Saints of Austria, 1515 (1906), Engraving. Fine, clear impression of very scarce engraving by Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) with hand printed titling in fountain pen ink at lower margin decades ago. Originally the block contained only six saints. The two at the right, Saints Otto and Poppo were added, probably in 1517, when Poppo's grave was opened during the visit of the Emperor Maximilian to Trier. It is a mark of the flexibility of woodcut technique that an additional block could be cut and fastened to the original and the whole printed as one. The two additional saints are not by Dürer but probably by his student Hans Springinklee. The six original figures, by Dürer, are, from the left, Quirinus, Maximilian, Florian, Severinus, Coloman and Leopold. Handsomely mounted and framed to 17 x 22, some scuff on right side of frame. Lot 390		Four High-Quality Amos Doolittle Reproduction Prints of the Battle of Lexington and Concord. A complete set of four reproduction prints of the Amos Doolittle's engravings, each 9½ x 13¼", each matted to 11½ x 15½" and framed to 14½ x 18½". Doolittle's four original engravings of the Battle of Lexington and Concord are among the rarest American historian prints. They were engraved by Doolittle in 1777 after Ralph Earle. These reproduction prints were created around 1970 by the R R Donnelley & Sons Company. The four plates are: Plate I - "The Battle of Lexington, April 19th, 1775"; Plate II - "A View of the Town of Concord"; Plate III - "The Engagement at the North Bridge in Concord"; Plate IV - "A View of the South Part of Lexington". Lot 391		Miró, Joan -- "Untitled from Homenatge a Joan Prats" ca. 1971, Signed and Numbered 33/75 (1893-1983) Spanish born surrealist genius who propelled the artform and by virtue abstract expressionism. His works are instantly recognizable and have remained timeless. Joan Prats was a close friend to Miró who, as a great lover of the avant-garde, became an expert on his art and in turn Miró created a series of works that pay fitting homage to a great supporter and friend in the exuberance and play of these works. Possibly the best in the series, this magnificent example of Miró's style is an explosion of form, color and abstract characters, combining his intricate abstract elements with his recurring motifs like birds, animals, and the moon. A large lithograph in colors, 25½ x 33½" beautifully framed to 40 x 49". Numbered 33/75 (note the small edition of lithographs) on Guarro wove paper with full margins and published by Poligrafa, Barcelona, Spain. In excellent condition, no fading whatsoever, and the frame having only the slightest evidence of wear. Given the size, outside shipping necessary, for which we can recommend one of the best and most reasonable in Los Angeles. Lot 392		Picasso, Pablo -- Hand Signed Lithograph of "Les Déjeuners" ca. 1962 (1881-1973) Without a doubt, one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century. Spanish born, Picasso was a painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. His works hang in every museum of consequence, his legacy still to this day is being written. Offered is a hand-signed lithograph entitled "Les Déjeuners" From the suite folder, Pablo Picasso -Les Déjeuners published by Cercle d'Art, Lausanne, Paris in 1962, 14¼ x 10½" signed in right corner in red pencil.
