Lot 561
1882, $20 Gold Certificate. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. Fr-1178. KL-555. Although PCGS assigned an italic grade (meaning "apparent") with mention of "minor stains and discoloration on back," it isn't all that bad for a circulated example of this type that usually shows some degree of fading or oxidation on the bright orange back design. Lot 563
1922, $50 Gold Certificate. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. Fr-1200. KL-705. This $50 gold note displays a bold orange overprint and back, however the graders at PCGS noted that this example has been washed and has a couple of masked stains on the back. The inks have only faded from the washing at the hard intersecting fold lines, otherwise the appearance isn't all that bad overall. Estimate Value $200 - 250

Lot 564
1922, $100 Gold Certificate. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. Fr-1215. KL-827. This example has a couple of minor flaws, as it's notated by PCGS Currency as having been washed and possessing a couple of small edge splits and tears. The eye appeal of this note, however, isn't at all as bad as it might sound. The back design is a trifle faded and there is some ink loss at the harder folds, but it's certainly a fully acceptable example for the budget-conscious collector. Estimate Value $250 - 300
