Artists: Ten (10) Signed Pieces by Miró, Lichtenstein, Rockwell, Weber, Chagall and Manzú. A collection of signed pieces by some of the greatest artists of the 20th Century. Several are boldy signed book and catalog published images of their works worthy of framing. Larger versions of some of these prints regularly command $800 to $1000 each.
1.) Two 10 x 8½" color images by Willem de Kooning, both boldly signed in lower white borders, the larger image is his masterwork "Easter Monday at the Metropolitan Museum the other, reminiscent of "Attic". A third image of de Kooning is signed 12 x 8½" of him in his studio but the signature, while visible does not "pop" given signed in ball point pen in dark area. 2.) A fantastic centerfold lift from publication of Roy Lichtenstein's work entitled "Jockeys". Print measures 12 x 16" and very suitable for framing. Lichtenstein has boldly signed in red marker in white border. Includes the 1993-1994 brochure from the Guggenheim Museum issued during their landmark retrospective. 3.) Marc Chagall has signed a wine label with art he created to be featured on the 1970 Chateau Mouton Rothschild. 6 x 4" and signed in blue pencil. 4.) Joan Miró has boldy signed a 9 x 7¼" catalog printed image of Poem I. There is a corner crease in lower right corner and very light foxing but neither impact the signature or the artwork. 5.) Dated 1905, a letter regarding The American Art Manual is boldly signed by Max Weber one of the first American Cubist painters of the 20th Century. His signature handwriting style is on full display in this 6 x 5" note dated "Brooklyn N.Y, September 2, 1905. 6.) Typed letter signed by Norman Rockwell dated December 10, 1974 on his Stockbridge, Massachusetts letter head. He writes to apologize he can't "draw the hands" for a group of children's artwork due to not "feeling well". 7.) Typed Letter signed by Giacomo Manzú in Italian on his personalized onion skin paper and is in superior condition. 8.) Dame Barbara Mary Quant, acclaimed fashion designer, illustrator and 1960s Brit icon who ushered in the "60s Mod" aesthetic. Estimated Value $800 - UP

Artists: Ten (10) Signed Pieces by Chagall, Lichtenstein, Conrow, Ennis, Four Pieces by de Kooning and More. A collection of signed pieces by some of the greatest artists of the 20th Century. Several are boldy signed book and catalog published images of their works worthy of framing. Larger versions of some of these prints regularly command $800 to $1000 each.
1.) Four (4) wonderful boldly signed prints by Willem de Kooning, one measuring 12 x 8½" of "Pastorale" and the other three measuring 10 x 8½" which include a close-up detail from Woman I, and two that are untitled. All four very suitable for framing. 2.) Two pieces signed by Roy Lichtenstein, one a 12 x 8½" portrait photo of him signed boldly in blue marker at bottom of white border. The other is a centerfold lift from a book of his paintings between 1970-1980. The work is entitled "The Dance" with image measuring 12 x 15½" and signed in red on left side of white border. Also included is a brochure from the landmark retrospective in 1993-94 at the Guggenheim Museum. 3.) A Cronyn & Lowndes Galleries exhibition brochure from 1934 inscribed and signed by acclaimed watercolorist George Pearse Ennis with a tipped image of one of his paintings 9 x 7". Includes other materials from the 30s regarding the artist. 4.) Andy Warhol's signature is on a check he did not cash. 5.) Marc Chagall has signed a 1973 Israeli First Day Issue commemorative cover, across two large stamps boasting different images of his Chagall Windows. (Note"Chagall" on lower left of envelope is pre-printed) 6.) Wilfred S. Conrow, the celebrated portrait artist from Hickory, NC and founder of the Hickory Museum of Art has made notations and signed a very large brown envelope dated Dec. 1933 with his superb signature quite large, almost 5" in length. 7.) The Joan Miró pieces are a bit unusual. In his hand he has dated his letter head head quite boldly. Also the envelope to addressee is written in his hand. But Miró returned a check dated 7/7/79 effectively canceling it by scribbling a design in red and blue colored pencils. Is it a cat, a dog, under a blue moon, who's to say, but it is an original Miró! Estimated Value $800 - UP

50 Acclaimed Artists on 50 First Day Covers: Andy Warhol, Jamie Wyeth, Peter Hurd, Eric Sloane, Elaine de Kooning, Jack Brusca, Lee Adler. Amazing collection of mostly American artists who proved influential in the 20th Century with several whose impact on the arts have carried into today. This collection was built in the 1970s -1980s and a great many of these gifted men and women have passed. Collection includes Andy Warhol (Warhol is so frequently forged know that this piece was authenticated very recently by James Spence & Associates), Nell Blaine, Jamie Wyeth, Henrietta Wyeth, George Segal, Peter Hurd, Lee Adler, Leon Berkowitz, master portrait painter Aaron Shikler, Anthony Benjamin (England), Buckminster Fuller, Don Spaulding, Eric Sloane, Richard Hennessy, Jack Brusca and Billy Al Bengston to name a few. Nadar - Gaspar-Félix Tournachon, Rare Autograph Letter Signed by 19th Century Balloonist and Celebrated Photographer (1820-1910) Known by the pseudonym Nadar, Tournachon was a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist, balloonist, and early proponent of flight. In 1858 he became the first person to take aerial photographs. In his lifetime he became a sensation in France when he had Eugend Godard construct "Le Geant" one of the largest hot air balloons of the time which inspired Jules Verne to write "Five Weeks in a Balloon". Nadar also photographed brilliantly some of the most celebrated notables, politicians, artists, stage actors and writers in France including Balzac, Sarah Bernhardt, Franz Lizt, Dumas and Émile Zola. Nadar writes on a monogrammed note card to a friend for intervening on his behalf with a Mme. Ballrec and profusely expresses his gratitude and kindness and signs as Nadar. One page, 8 x 5¼" and in excellent condition. Estimated Value $300 - UP
