Jamaica. 1772-1795 Straight Line Handstamp, Type 2, Collection, 30+ Stampless Folded Mail Pieces. Impressive mounted and annotated collection of 30+ pieces of stampless folded mail, many with original contents. The rare type 2 handstamp that reads "IAMAICA" and is 43mm long and 6mm high with broad "M". According to Foster's book on Jamaican postal history, there are not more than 150 examples on cover known of this strike. Strikes vary in strength as one would expect and are virtually all sent to London. Very rare and fine collection. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
