Lot 3176
1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Last year of the "CC" mint. Well struck and choice. The Carson City Mint had a short by illustrious history. It closed in 1893 due to political considerations by the Grover Cleveland administration. This last-of-the-breed silver dollar is a lovely choice Mint State example with top-notch eye appeal. Most examples of the 1893-CC Dollar are heavily bagmarked, weak in the centers, and just don't look very attractive; however, the coin offered to you with this lot is a wonderful exception. Both sides have bright silver luster and are sharply struck and look too grand to pass up. Pop 392; 7 finer ion 65. (PCGS # 7222) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Lot 3177
1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. A nice untoned well struck example. The mint luster rolls around both sides with a pleasing cartwheel sheen, and none of the features reveal any bothersome distractions, indeed this lovely 1893-CC has eye appeal to spare! Desirable with this precision strike.

The Carson City, Nevada mint got a reprieve from abolishment when, in 1889, it reopened after a 4-year hiatus. But the relief of the mint workers and supporters got a hard knock when funding was dropped from the 1894 budget handed to Congress by the President. At the end of the calendar year, Carson City closed up shop for good, its funding cut, the workers fired, leaving only a few caretakers to mop up and dust the cobwebs. This silver dollar issue would turn out to be the last of a famous breed of "cartwheels" made in Nevada. Pop 392; 7 finer in 65. (PCGS # 7222) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Lot 3178
1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Blast white and semi reflective. Without doubt the most visually stunning feature of this coin is its vibrant, frosted mint luster. Full swirling luster on both sides, in fact, with an almost mirror aspect to the fields offsetting the frostier high points of Liberty and the eagle. Of course, collectors seeing the photos understand this coin is sharply struck for the date, best of all nearly entirely so. Certainly a mint-fresh '93-CC that gets proper mention where completeness of design is almost impossible to attain. Pop 392; 7 finer in 65. (PCGS # 7222) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Lot 3179
1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63. Light natural pinkish-silver toning. Snow-white luster underneath the color with sharp definition and only a few tiny marks. A truly exceptional for 1893-CC, the final year that Carson City Mint was open. Few collectors in those days understood the significance of the government "abandoning the ship" as it were, and letting the Nevada mint lose its funding and close (PCGS # 7222) .
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000.

Lot 3183
1893-S Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded EF-45. Well struck and nice original toning. Important key date. A "must have" EF45 example with strong underlying support given by the choice fields and devices; struck from the dies that reinforce the beauty of the design inasmuch as the clear-cut devices point to it having been giving a full blow by the dies. Weakness can sometimes occur at a few central locations on most of this Morgan dollar issue, but not on this handsome coin. Only 100,000 minted (PCGS # 7226) .
Estimated Value $12,000 - 13,000.

1893-S Morgan Dollar. NGC graded EF-45. Popular key date. A carefully handled S-Mint dollar from this famous year, with natural light toning, no spots or heavy marks. 1893-S Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded EF-40. Lightly toned. Popular key date.
