Lot 3582
1914, $10 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS graded Choice About New 55. . Fr-911a. This nice-looking example has a light fold that was detected by the experts at PCGS, otherwise it appears to be much finer.

Lot 3583
1914, $10 Federal Reserve Note. Fr-911c. PCGS graded Apparent Fine 15, Repaired Edge Splits. . Fr-911c. This cataloger noticed on that very memorable (yet forgetable) day, while cataloging for a sale but distracted by the awful news, that the Fr. 911 number was reserved for notes from the New York district -- certainly an eerie coincidence. This note is one of only 13 star notes of this scarcer "c" variety reported.
Estimated Value $600 - 800.

Lot 3593
1914, $10 Federal Reserve Note. Fr-922. PCGS graded Fine 12. . Fr-922. Only 13 examples of this scarce Richmond district Star Note are known, including this piece which traces its history back to a Lyn Knight auction in August, 2000, where it brought $264. Lot 3610
1914, $10 Federal Reserve Note. Star Note. Fr-951a. PCGS graded Apparent Fine 12, Edge Damage at Top and Left. . Fr-951a. This rare San Francisco Star Note is from a number that reports just seven replacement examples to the census, with this one newly reported and bringing the new total to eight. No specimen has reached the market since a damaged Fine sold for $1,210 way back in 1999, making this the first opportunity in nearly eight years for collectors to bid on this rarity. A bit frayed at the top and left, but otherwise solid for the "apparent" grade.

1914, $10 Federal Reserve Note. Fr-951b. PCGS graded Apparent Fine 15, Rust Stains. . Fr-951b. Lot 3618
1914, $20 Federal Reserve Note. Star Note. Fr-964. PCGS graded Very Fine 25PPQ. . Fr-964. One of the highlights of this collection of Feds, this example is one of only three Fr. 964 Star Notes currently known to exist. The finest is an XF that appeared in a Stack's sale in 1996, and the other is a low grade Good-Very Good example that sold in a Lyn Knight auction in 2003. This example is making its first appearance in public auction since 2000, when it sold for the now inconceivably low sum of $687.50. Since that time, the market for large size Federal Reserve Notes has advanced considerably, and rarities like this are now recognized in today's market. They still represent considerable value in the overall collectibles market, however, as any U.S. coin of similar rarity would likely be a six-figure or even seven-figure item. Expect this note to reach or even far exceed our likely conservative estimate.
