Lot 2719
1935-A, $1 World War II Emergency Note. Star Note. PCGS Currency Very Fine 35PPQ. . Fr-2300*. . KL-1609*. This Hawaii star note is far nicer than most, with fully original paper surfaces and bold inks and colors. It has just a few too many folds for the full Extremely Fine grade, but it looks better than some that might have a higher technical grade.

1934-A, $10 World War II Emergency Note. Misaligned "HAWAII" Overprint on Back. PCGS Currency Very Fine 30PPQ. . Fr-2303. . KL-2258. The "HAWAII" overprint on the back of this note is shifted too far up and to the right. While not a dramatic error, it is certainly a scarce one.

1934-A, $10 World War II Emergency Note. North Africa Star Note. PCGS Currency About New 53. . Fr-2309*. . KL-2260*. This interesting Star note is an attractive example with very little evidence of actual circulation. In addition, there is an imprint of an "extra" star just below the star in the right serial number. More than likely this was created when the finger of a BEP employee touched the wet ink shortly after it was printed and transferred the image about a half inch to the south; it is also entirely possible that this was done after the note left the BEP. Either way, it is an interesting piece and one that merits additional study.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,250.
