Before there were "diamonds by the yard" there was Carole Wallace Designs (Maxfield Jewelry Gallery, LA). Offered is her 16" platinum and diamond station necklace featuring seven (7) brilliant cut bezel set colored diamond ranging from light chocolate, to champagne to white. Center stone is the largest (½ carat) with the flanking pair of three descending in size. This is a custom piece measuring 16" long and weighing 3 grams. Absolutely lovely. Lot 550		Outstanding 24K Gold Commemorative Papal Coin with Bezel and High Karat Yellow Gold Chain. Beautiful 24K yellow gold commemorative coin on the occasion of the first-ever papal visit to the Philippines by Pope Paul VI in 1970. The visit proved a triumphant and historic event marred by an assasination attempt on the Pope, who continued his tour in spite of two knife wounds. Coin is set in high karat bezel and is on a heavy, high carat round link gold chain. Total gross weight is an impressive 77¼ grams. Lot 551		Three (3) 14K Yellow Gold Lariat Necklaces of Nicely Weighted Rope Chains. Three very fine lariat style 14K yellow gold necklaces. Two are 24" in total length and the thid piece is 30". Each have nice detailing to the slides including one with tiny rubies forming a single flower. While the lariats can fit over most women's heads, the two 24" necklaces both have back clasps. Lot 552		Extremely Appealing 1915 Ten Dollar Gold Piece on Rope Chain Surrounded by a Dimond Bezel totaling 3 Carats. Very attractive gold coin necklace in 14K white gold bezel of diamonds. $10 US gold piece is authentic, has been polished for greater appeal and would be considered VF with only scattered light scratches. The white gold bezel enhances greatly the sparkly of approximately 3 carats in round diamonds, all H-I color and SI clairty. This coin pendant hangs on a 14K yellow gold rope necklace 19" in length. The finest and most beautiful South Sea pearl neclace we have offered in some time. 35 pearls each 12 mm in diameter all boast gorgeous luster and colors with each individually hand-knotted to form the necklace. 14K large round gold clasp has attached a single South Sea pearl with .20 carat white brilliant cut accent diamond that dangles from the clasp for extra style. President Theodore Roosevelt commissioned America's most famous 19th century sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens to design new gold coins to replace the outdated Liberty coins. This beautiful standing Liberty holding a torch by Gaudens is an authentic $20 gold piece in quite fine condition, dated 1925 and set in an impressive 18K double ringed bezel. Lot 566		Gothic, Handcrafted, Vintage Sterling Silver Cross Pendant, Amber Carved Skull and Copal Resin Bead Necklace. The most unusual piece of jewelry in this auction. A hand crafted sterling silver cross necklace suitable for either sex that is actually lidded revealing a full compartment inside. There are marks inside the lid of the cross that appear Greek or Cyrillic but simply not clear enough to make out. Within the necklace itself is a single and quite striking, handcarved and highly polished skull made of reconstitued amber, with an additonal 4 round amber beads stationed evenly throughout the necklace. The balance of the necklace have copal resin beads having high relief of concentric circles. This is a most striking piece of jewelry (some may even say a rosary) but certainly remarkable piece of wearable jewelry sure to generate much comment and admiration. Necklace is 33" in length, the cross is 68 x 46 mm, the amber skull is 27 x 24 mm, the 4 amber beads are 13½ mm and the copal resin beads 9 mm. Defintely a vintage piece. 2½ ozt. A French sterling silver elephant balancing a carnelian ball on its upright trunk mounted to a large piece of quartz. The necklace accents the pendant beautifully with carnelian, lapis and seed pearls.
