Bobby Darin: Original, Complete Trumpet Arrangement for "Mack The Knife" with Numerous Notations (1936-1973 age 37 from heart failure) Musician, actor, singer and songwriter, Darin performed a variety of genres ranging from pop, jazz, rock and roll to folk and country music. After the success of "Dream Lover" he released "Mack the Knife", the standard from Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera, was given a vamping jazz-pop interpretation clearly evidenced in this original arrangement. The song went to No. 1 on the chart for nine weeks, sold two million copies, and won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1960 and later honored by being included in the Grammy Hall of Fame. An incredible achievement given how utterly dark the song is regarding a murdering highwayman named Macheath.

Original arrangement for trumpet, credited to Richard Wess at top right of sheet is the full arrangement given the reprises. According to several sources Carl "Doc" Severensen (band leader on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) was on trumpet. There are numerous notations in pencil throughout "reprise", "2x vamp" several times an eyeglasses caricature, "stand" and "ride out".

Sheet music is beautifully presented in a museum grade presentation and framed in light oak to 19 x 35". Estimated Value $2,500 - 5,000
