Mercury Program, 1963, "Corvette" Retail Instalment Contract. Every space collector knows about the specially made Corvettes leased to each of the Mercury Seven astronauts. These cars have become part of the hard living image of the guys. This lot is Deke Slayton's copy of his original contract, signed on January 15, 1963 by Slayton and Jim Rathmann in Melbourne, FL. The contract shows the model and Serial number of his 8 cylinder, 1963 new convertible. Even as a carbon copy, this is a historic, original document. Unique.

Mercury Program, c1960, Deke Slayton Autograph. Lot of two different including one on a 1960 NASA black and white photo that he has signed:"Best Wishes / Donald K. Slayton" (his early autograph) and the other being on an 8x10" color glossy (on Kodak paper) that he has signed "D.K.Slayton" (his later autograph). An attractive pair. A paper clip stain on top of the black and white photo and some wrinkles should not detract.

ALSO included are original Polaroid Mercury spacesuit photos (x30+), some of which are reproduced as NASA 8x10" photos, some printed matter AND an original 1959, B.F. Goodrich "Light Weight Full Pressure Suit, Mark IV" handbook (46pp.). This is definitely a lot worthy of a close look.

Included are the "Results of the First United States Orbital Space Flight", "Results of the Second United States Manned Orbital Space Flight", "Results of the Third United States Manned Orbital Space Flight", Gemini Summary Conference", "Earth Photographs from Gemini VI through XII" and "
Apollo Expeditions to the Moon". All of the volumes appear to be in good shape. Some have owner's inscriptions, labels and dedications added. A nice lot.
