After Titian 18th Century "Girl With Basket of Fruits, 'Lavinia' " in Likely Original Handcarved Gilt Frame. Tiziano Vecelli or Tiziano Vecellio (1488- 1576), known in English as Titian, was the most important Italian painter and member of the 16th-century Venetian school. His influence on the Italian Renaissance and future generations of Western art proved considerable. Offered is a superb, monumental early 19th century oil on canvas after Titian, titled Girl with a Basket of Fruits (Lavinia), which was painted 1555-1558. It features an attractive young woman holding a tray of flowers and fruits. Lavinia Vecellio, the model here, was Titian's daughter. The oil on canvas has been categorized as Mannerism (Late Renaissance)

An absolutely beautiful work, actual canvas measures 38½ x 31". Foringer, Alonzo Earl: American Bank Note Company, Magnificent, Rare, Original Oil on Canvas Concept Art, Ca. 1920s. (1878- 1948) Alonzo Earl Foringer celebrated magazine illustrator for Scribner's, a World War I propaganda poster designer and an acclaimed muralist whose works can be seen throughout the US. He was also sought after as a bank note designer for American, Canadian and European banks. Here is a wonderful domestic scene of a woman having heated up a large pot of water on the fire in order for the boy to give the dog a bath. Oil on canvas boasts wonderful details, the worn apron, the cherubic faces, and the absolutely great detail of the tub and adorable dog. Canvas measures 16 x 21" framed to 26 x 30". We have a second painting in the auction by this artist; they would make a superb pair. Antique gilt wood frame has some dings, paint loss and minor repair but compliments the work nicely. Estimate Value $600 - UP

Very Fine Late 19th Century English School; -- Artist's Name Illegible, Student and Teacher. Staying After Class Late 19th Century English School, oil on canvas. Signed but artist's hand illegible. However due to the manufacturer of the stretched canvas stamped on verso W. URQUHART/ 157, HIGH STREET/ NOTTING HILL GATE/ 327, EDGWARE RD, LONDON W. we can date this work to about 1892-1895 based on the database of the National Portrait Gallery of British Art Suppliers 1650-1950. A charming work, a dedicated schoolmaster is tutoring a young lad likely having a problem solving a bit of arithmetic. Canvas measures 17 x 21" and is framed in gilt wood to 26 x 30". Frame has had some chips repaired and touch-up but overall compliments this 120 year work quite nicely. Artwork itself has been maintained beautifully and in excellent condition. We have another painting by this same artist that would make a great pair. Estimate Value $600 - UP
