  Great Britain. 1759. Gold Locket, from a Gold 2 Guinea of George II. Handsome jewelry accessory, the gold coin forming the lid of the fairly thick locket. The lower half of the piece fashioned from slightly different colored gold, with sides and back richly engraved with compact floral arabesques of acanthus leaves. Within, one of the silver-lined glass covers remains. Minor old repair to one side of the hinge. Workmanship appears to be late 18th century. A choice artifact.
