Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 1797
1840 Liberty Seated Dollar. EF-45. Flashy and bright, but we note some faint graffiti on the upper reverse which has been reduced to almost nothing by a profusion of marks in the area. Untoned and not a bad coin overall.
Estimated Value $300 - 350.

Lot 1798
1842 Liberty Seated Dollar. NGC graded MS-61. Steel gray in color, with nice contrast between the fields and devices. Examination will locate typical handling marks, especially in the fields, but none are deep. Most of these early date Seated dollars circulated, and finding a high grade one can be a challenge.

Lot 1801
1849 Liberty Seated Dollar. MS-60. Moderate handling marks expected for the grade, but still nice and appealing. Untoned save for faint shadowy images on the obverse. As to the strike, it rates as normal, with slight weakness on the stars, but full on most of the other devices.
Estimated Value $800 - 1,000.

Lot 1802
1853 Liberty Seated Dollar. MS-64. Bright and untoned from a recent dipping, the color is slightly golden. Clean surfaces which show minor handling marks, mostly on the devices as compared to the fields. The usual faint hairlines are present in the fields, but they are expected on a mint state coin of almost any grade. One very light edge nick is noted over Liberty's head.
Estimated Value $7,500 - 10,000.

Lot 1803
1859-O Liberty Seated Dollar. PCGS graded MS-62. Blazing white luster and almost certainly from the bag of these that was discovered when the Treasury Department released their hoards in the 1960s. Moderate bag marks, but better than most seen from this hoard, after all, how would you look after being tossed around in a bag of silver dollars for 100 years? A frosty, brilliant uncirculated coin.
Estimated Value $1,250 - 1,500.

Lot 1804
1860-O Liberty Seated Dollar. MS-63 Prooflike. Toned a lovely steel gray in color and examination will find minor hairlines and a couple of shallow dents in the field left of Liberty's head. The fields are reflective, and this must have been an early strike from the dies.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000.

Lot 1805
1860-O Liberty Seated Dollar. PCGS graded AU-50. Medium steel gray in color with golden toning around the edges. While moderate bagmarks are present, this coin retains nice appeal and luster, and most collectors will find it worth a good bid. In an old green insert PCGS holder.

1864 Liberty Seated Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64. Mintages for the year amounted to just 470 coins in Proof. This is one of the better ones, PCGS notes just 28 have been graded this high, with 15 graded higher. The obverse is toned a light silvery gray in color, while the reverse is a cloudy and irregular gray in the fields, frosty on the devices. Needle sharp strike, and minor hairlines beneath the toning, as always, as well as a few areas of handling ticks.

Lot 1808
1868 Liberty Seated Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64. Deep steel gray in color, with shadowy areas in the fields that glow a luminous blue when examined under a light.
