  Pattern "Reddite" Crown, 1663. ESC-73. Silver. 32.88 grams. by Thomas Simon. Large laureate bust right, Simon in script below, revenue. cruciform shields, interlinked C's in angles, St. George and dragon within Garter in centre, edge reading REDDITE. QVAE CAESARIS. CAESARI & ct POST, followed by sun appearing out of cloud. Extremely Rare. Bergne writing in 1854 recorded nine specimens (three in institutional collections). Enclosed in a modern silver box with the pedigree engraved on the lid. The "Petition" Crown in the Nightingale sale (lot 88) was sold in a similar silver box, which doubtless inspired Willis to commission his own box to hold the "Reddite" Crown. The "Willis" name has been added as a pedigree to this box. Very Fine.
