John II, 1118-1143 AD. Gold Histamenon Nomisma (4.45g). Nimbate seated figure of Christ holding book of Gospels. Reverse: Busts of John II and the Virgin holding long cross between. S. 1938. Creased and bent flan. Very Fine.

Manuel I, 1143-1180 AD. Electrum Aspron Trachy (4.2g). Christ, bearded, seated facing on throne, raising hand in benediction. Reverse: The Virgin (on r.) and Manuel (on l.) both standing, and holding patriarchal cross between them. S-1958; BMC 25-6. R-2119. A bit of flatness on the head of The Virgin, as struck, otherwise, a very choice specimen. Extremely Fine.

Alexius III, 1195-1203 AD. Pale Electrum (virtually silver) Aspron (4.4g). Constantinople mint. Christ enthroned facing, holding Gospels, hand raised in benediction. Reverse: Alexius and St. Constantine stand facing, holding labarum between them, Alexius holds plain scepter, St. Constantine with cruciform scepter. Inscription illegible. SBC 2010 var. Toned. Nearly Extremely Fine.
