Lot 310
1859. NGC graded Proof 65. Only 800 minted. The obverse offers rose-gold and blue toning while the reverse is more uniform with deep and lovely blue and purple toning. Scarce at the Gem level and highly desirable for the rich, original toning and depth of the strike. An early Proof like this, struck well before the Motto was aded to the reverse, is always a hard coin to find in Gem! Perfect for the advanced date or type collector. 1859 is the year where proof production finally became more widely available to collectors, and while hardly "common" today, these are somewhat available with patience. Pop 21; 19 finer . Estimate Value $3,000 - 3,400

Lot 312
1873. Arrows. NGC graded Proof 66. Lovely blue, gold and yellow toning on both sides, with flashes of vibrant russet in the centers. Gorgeous mirror fields show full and glorious freshness, seldom seen on these scarce proof coins with Arrows. Well frosted on the devices, but this is subdued by the exceptional toning. Only 540 struck. Pop 9; 6 finer, 1 in 66+, 4 in 67, 1 in 68 Star. Estimate Value $5,500 - 6,000

Lot 313
1874. Arrows. NGC graded Proof 65 Cameo. Lovely blue toning around the obverse rims. Only 700 struck and an important type coin with the Arrows at the date. The Arrows signified a slight adjustment in the silver content of the planchets of coinage of the period, an early attempt at managing the United States onto the Metric system, which sadly was ignored. Here is one of the nicer examples of these short-lived type coins to be available today. Pop 8; 7 finer, 6 in 66, 1 in 67+. Estimate Value $5,000 - 5,500
