Lot 323
1652 Massachusetts Oak Tree Shilling Noe-6.1 R6+ NGC graded MS63, CAC Approved. Type with IN at the bottom. Choice glossy medium gray with slightly lighter silvery gray toning on the devices. Mint frost shows in the protected areas and the eye appeal of this piece is outstanding. The obverse (tree side) is well-centered for the variety with only the tops of a few letters off the planchet. The reverse is nicely centered and the legends are strong. Die clashmarks show on the obverse and strong die cracks are present on the reverse, as always on this very rare variety. Clearly superior to the example in the Ford collection and considered to be the finest known of the variety. It was displayed at the 1991 ANS Exhibition (Coin #41), and it comes with an impressive provenance. Weight 71.0 grains. The attribution and Hanson-Partrick provenance are noted on the NGC label. PCGS #20. Estimated Value $15,000 - UP

Lot 325
1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling Noe-29 R3 NGC graded VF30. A Small Planchet variety. Very attractive glossy medium steel gray with lighter silvery toning on the devices. Rather well centered on both sides. No marks and nicely struck except for some weakness on a couple letters at the top of both sides thanks to a slightly thin area in the planchet. The date, denomination, and tree are complete and bold. A very nice type coin for this historic Early American coinage. Weight listed as 67.8 grains on the NGC label. Estimated Value $3,000 - UP

Lot 326
1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Sixpence Noe-33a R5 NGC graded VF25. Type with Pellets at Trunk. Slightly glossy medium gray and steel with slightly lighter gray toning on the devices. The surfaces are smooth and there are no planchet flaws. The only marks are a dent at the edge left of the I in IN causing a minor bulge at the opposing left top of the N in NEW and a tiny pinprick right of the tree trunk. The date, denomination, and Pine Tree are complete and clear. Rather well centered on the planchet (which differentiates this variety from Noe-33 which comes from the same die pair but was struck with the tree side badly misaligned). A decent example of this tough denomination. Weight listed as 31.5 grains on the NGC label. Estimated Value $1,500 - UP
