Manson, Charles Milles: 5 Page Handwritten Letter to Biographer Nuel Melton Emmons (1934-2017) Disturbed American criminal and cult leader whose followers were responsible for nine murders at four locations, creating a shock wave across Southern California. An uncharacteristically and somewhat lucid letter to once fellow inmate, friend and ultimately biographer, Nuel Melton Emmons (1927-2002) totalling 5 pages on yellow tablet paper. "I fought for a lot of years to speak & was not permitted to do anything but kept 10 years in the hole…………what I did say was twisted and distorted……the ones who have made fortunes from misfortunes made the road to hell………power pushed lies and BS on me for years……….let us write a book & I say OK and we start but they stop & say its too heavy for my minds brain Charlie, ideas are bigger than people…." From the estate of Nuel Melton Emmons (address in letter as Mel) and in excellent condition, with transmittal envelope from fellow prisoner and friend William Wilson. Manson signs in at end of letter with swastika over his last name. Estimated Value $600 - UP

Manson, Charles Milles: Document Signed Giving Permission to Nuel Melton Emmons to Author Biography (1934-2017) Disturbed American criminal and cult leader whose followers were responsible for nine murders at four locations creating a shock wave across Southern California. Rare document signed by Charles Manson with his characteristic swastika through his name and co-signed by prison official Gary Shaughn as witness on 12-4-80. Abbreviated document gives Nuel Melton Emmons (1927-2002) permission to access tapes, photographs and to arrange media coverage on a pending biography. Emmons had once been jailed and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote "Manson in His Own Words" This document is from Emmons' estate. 8½ x 11 on cream colored paper. Estimated Value $700 - UP

Manson, Charles Milles: Twice Signed "Joke" Check Made Out to Himself for One Million Dollars (1934-2017) Disturbed American criminal and cult leader whose followers were responsible for nine murders at four locations, creating a shock wave across Southern California. Offered is a "joke check" by Charles Manson made out to himself, signed and dated Aug. 22, 69, for one million dollars. Executed on a Home Savings of America check, Manson has signed twice with swastika through his signature. Note the address: Csp Corcoran (California State Prison, Corcoran, CA. 93212) Excellent condition. Estimated Value $200 - UP

Webster, John White; American Murderer, Physician and Harvard Professor (1793-1850) Before O.J., before Leopold and Loeb, before Sacco & Vanzetti or even Harry K. Thaw and the murder of Stanford White, there was John White Webster. Principally remembered for the murder of Dr. George Parkman, uncle to acclaimed historian and author Francis Parkman. The grisly murder became a national sensation unlike anything prior to 1849 with well over a thousand journalists covering the trial in Boston, riveting readers with every detail. He was found guilty and hanged. Collection of three signed pieces of the three major players involved: 1.) Short A.D.S. by White on 1½ x 3" "Admit the Bearer Jany. 6. 1837 J.W.W" (John White Webster) 2.) Short A.D.S. signed receipt by victim George Parkman dated July 29, 1848 2¾ x 4" 3.) An ALS by the person who posted the reward for capturing the murderer of Parkman, Robert G. Shaw dated Boston, Sep 12, 1834 regarding a favor. All three pieces in excellent condition.
