Russia. Nicholas I, 1825-55. 1849 Silver Medal, 34mm with integral loop, signed A. Klepikov on reverse. An award medal given to participants in the construction and consecration of the Kremlin Palace. It was also awarded to high officials of the imperial court. A total of 145 gold and 4723 silver medals were struck, though the latter mintage belies its present scarcity. A minor obverse scratch is well hidden in the steel gray toning; sharply struck Extremely Fine.

Crowned two-headed eagle flies over the bridge/Hercules and Minerva standing with a seated woman holding an oar. There are obverse contact marks in the fields and two edge nicks and many scratches and an edge bump on reverse, thus About Very Fine.
