Lot 263

1800 S-199 R4 PCGS graded VF35. Frosty dark steel and olive brown. No corrosion and only trivial marks. The best identifying marks are a tiny spot of lighter brown toning in the field off the tip of the nose and a half dozen very light parallel hairlines slanting down to the right on the neck. MDS, Breen state IV, with a die crack at TED and die clashmarks on both sides, strongest at OF AM, but no cud breaks. The date and legends are all bold. Graded VF25 and CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #59270. Our grade is VF25. A nice example of this tough die variety. The attribution and Husak-Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2 in VF; 1 finer in 40 for the variety. PCGS #36185. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 7/2005-Walter Husak, Heritage 2/15/2008:2202-Gene Heard Collection.
