Lot 255

1794 S-26 R2 F12. Rather glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are smooth and the only marks of any significance are a scuff of faint hairlines across the date, a fine nearly vertical scratch at the hair left of the eye, a planchet flake in the dentils over the E in STATES, and a thin planchet fissure that meanders through the fraction bar (as struck). Only the planchet fissure is distracting and the eye appeal is excellent for the grade. MDS, Breen state IV. There is a small die chip at the top of the I in AMERICA but the radial die crack through the first S in STATES has not formed. The earlier die crack down through the E in STATES is strong. Estimate Value $750 - UP
