Lot 235

1814 S-295 R1 Plain 4 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Lustrous medium chocolate brown and steel with peeps of golden tan faded down from mint color in a few protected areas. There only marks are a diagonal nick on the jawline over the throat, two shallow, barely visible depressions at the dentil tips under the second 1 in the date, and a faint hairline scratch over the N in ONE. M-LDS, Breen state X, with small areas of crumbling on the profile of the chin, jaw, and neck in addition to the earlier die cracks on the obverse. A beautiful cent with mint state eye appeal. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #21146. Our grade is AU55+. The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS Secure label. Pop 3; 10 finer at PCGS for the variety . Estimate Value $8,000 - UP
