Ford, Gerald R. (1913-2006) 38th President of the United States (1974-77). Typed letter signed as Ex-President, on letterhead with Presidential Seal, 1 page, 8½ x 6½", Feb. 25, 1989. To Maria Carroll thanking her for a book of speeches by Warren G. Harding and saying he was certain that "the news media and some historians have over-emphasize the negatives in the Harding era. I know from personal experience that is the tendency…." He also expresses his appreciation as a golfer of a copy of a photo of Harding playing golf. Very fine with bold signature. $150 - 200
