Byzantine Bronze Reliquary Cross Pendant. Byzantine bronze reliquary with top loop for hanging. Rendered in relief, the cross depicts on one side the haloed body of the crucified Christ with three busts of saints depicted in medallions flanking and above, and on the other side the haloed Mary and Christ child in the "theotokos" configuration with busts of three saints in medallions above and on either side of the central pair. Nice hard, dark green patina. Circa 12th-14th century C.E. Length: 119 mm. $2,500 - 3,000
