Lot 473

Collection of Worcester Blue & White, Chinoisere & Scenic Themed Porcelain ca. 1765. Collection 18 pieces of first period Worcester pieces from the 18th Century most with crescent marks. We have lotted the entire collection of Chinoisere inspired designs and some evidently some are in quite rare patterns. For the pattern of a scenic Chinese landscape and fisherman on a boat, the collection includes a fantastic tea caddy, 4½ x 3 x 3" a bowl 3 x 4 x 4", matching saucer 6 x 6" and a small cream pitcher. Also one saucer of a scene with bamboo fence and floral motifs, a footed bowl with a Chinese man pointing and on the other side sitting along a river, another footed bowl of a wealthy Chinese couple and child with ample harvest, a demitasse cup and saucer with a Chinese boat on a river and village in background, and finally two delicate tea bowls and saucers of birds in tree pattern. Complimenting these pieces are a collection of scenic themed or floral designs. First two scalloped plates with the blue printed "vase and bat" design 8 x 8", a saucer of Colonial era women carrying buckets atop their heads (slaves?), a milk jug with a town scene in back ground and two floral tea bowls. All of these pieces in overall excellent condition, but note one fleck in a floral tea bowl. $800 - 1,500
