Lot 454

Vintage Sterling Silver Including Presentation Cup Dated 1815. A collection of early 19th and early 20th century sterling silver. The most interesting is a beautifully crafted silver goblet presented to The Reverend Brooke Bridges Stevens as a "Tribute of Respectful Attachment" by the small market town of Coggeshall, Essex England dated 1815. On the opposing side a coat of arms with the motto Temperato Splendeat In Usu The goblet had been weighted with lead decades ago under the base likely to be more stable while on display. Also included are two small Viennese sterling silver nut bowls (5 ozt) from the mid-1800s and from Sheffield, sterling silver salt and pepper shakers from the mid 1920s (2¾ ozt). The goblet very difficult to gauge weight given the hand fashioned weighted lead underneath the base. $300 - 500

Realized $360
