1803 S-250 R3 PCGS Genuine, Unc Details, Cleaning. Lustrous light to medium steel brown and olive with lighter golden steel brown toning in protected areas and faint hints of light bluish steel overtone on both sides. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is excellent. Although PCGS says this piece has been cleaned, we are not convinced. If cleaned, it was done long ago and very lightly. No spots or stains, only a couple microscopic contact marks. The notable ones are a long, very thin diagonal nick on the bust over the right side of the 3 and a tiny rim nick just left of the O in OF. MDS with fine radial die flowlines on both sides. There is a shallow low spot under the hair ribbon and another over the C in CENT, both caused by debris on the dies. Our grade is AU55. The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS Secure label. Estimated Value $2,000-UP
