Castro, Fidel (1926 -). Document signed ("Fidel Castro Ruz"), as Prime Minister, in Spanish, 4 pages, on "Republica De Cuba / Presidencia" letterhead, 13½ x 9", Havana, August 19, 1959 ("Año de la Liberación"). Countersigned on page four by Osvaldo Dorticos, President of the Republic of Cuba, and the Minister of Public Health, and initialed by all three on pages one, two, and three. The blue paper seal of the President of the Republic of Cuba, featuring the Cuban coat of arms, appears intact below the signatures on page four.
This document describes Law 499, which initiated a campaign to eradicate the mosquito-borne Dengue virus by eliminating environments conducive to the insect's proliferation. All pages 3-hole-punched and with pin-hole perforations along the left margins, lightly creased at the horizontal center, and slightly chipped and discolored along the edges -- the condition is very good.
