13 Piece Antique Meissen Blue Onion ca. 1930s. Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) is a fine china tableware pattern originally manufactured by Meissen porcelain since the 18th century and remains today, extremely popular and appealing. The onion pattern was designed as a white ware decorated with cobalt blue underglaze pattern. 13 piece collection of antique blue onion Meissen each with crossed sword marks indicating age range from 1934 to 1945. The floral blue flow onion pattern is beautifully detailed and overall has been kept in wonderful condition. Appealing for collectors are the two serving platters and the scarce double bowl. The largest oval tray measuses 11 x 16" with only slight loss of gilt to the edges, the slightly smaller 10 x 13", having moderate loss. The double bowl, almost a split shell appearance measures 9 x 11 x 4¾" and shows very little loss of gilt to the edges or handle. Finally 10 salad/dessert plates measuring 8" in diameter No cracks, chips or repairs. Estimated Value $400 - 800
