Large Persian, Highly Decorative Samovar. Samovars (sometimes also spelled samavar or samaavar) are used to boil water for tea and are a staple in most Persian homes. Just like in Russia, tea is a very popular drink in the area. Pretty much everyone begins their day with a cup of tea, and certainly at break time in the day. Offered here is a very appealing example with great detail. Most appealing is its squat round shape of some size, secure hinged neck for adding water and hot coals. Piece though show little if any use, and has been a lovely decorative piece in a very stylish environment. Has not been tested Somovar stands 26 x 18 x 18" at its widest girth boasting a soft aged patina. Wood base for photo use only. Fine condition. Estimated Value $300 - 500

Realized $456
