Lot 248

Schulz, Charles M. and Carrol Spinney (1933 -). American puppeteer and cartoonist, most famous for playing Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on the long-running children's program, Sesame Street. This three-piece lot includes two small (2¼ x 4½" and 4½ x 4¼") ink cartoons of Schulz's celebrated canine, Snoopy, both signed ("Schulz") by the artist, and an inscribed ("Hi, Megan! / BIG BIRD") ink cartoon of Spinney's beloved alter-ego, Big Bird, along with a few errant yellow feathers. All three items were acquired at a 3rd grade birthday party celebrated at Snoopy's Home Ice, Charles Schulz's ice skating rink in Santa Rosa, California. The Snoopy cartoons are lightly creased, but still very good. The Big Bird cartoon is worn, with some moisture damage mostly confined to the margins and some holes through the lower half of the sheet of paper leaving the piece in good condition. Estimated Value $600 - 800

Realized $325
