Johnson, Lyndon B (1908-1973). 36th President of the United States. Typed letter signed ("Lyndon"), as Vice President, with holograph post script "Enjoyed hearing you last night", 1 page, 9 x 7", on ivory Vice Presidential stationery, Washington, D.C., November 3, 1962. To the Honorable Cyrus R. Vance (1917-2002), the Secretary of the Army who would ascend to the office of Secretary of State under President Jimmy Carter. Johnson politely declines an invitation extended by Vance to him and the First Lady to attend the 1962 Army-Navy football game. The 224-page official program for the event is included. The letter is fine as well as the program. Estimated Value $300 - 500
