Harry Houdini Signed and Dated Playing Card. Houdini (1874-1926) a Hungarian-American illusionist, stunt performer, actor, historian and pilot was known for his sensational escape acts thrilling his public with legitimately, heart-stopping danger. Prior to these spectacularly staged events, he was an extraordinary magician in traditional card tricks and in fact was known earlier as "The King of Cards". Given that, this wonderful inscribed, signed and dated playing card, the ace of diamonds is an especially nice collectible. Inscribed "To W.C. Wilson Best Wishes Houdini July 9/1924" executed in black fountain pen ink now slightly discolored. Overall card displays some wear and toning and appears to be a card manufactured by Bicycle Playing Card Company from the late 1910s early 1920s, measuring 3½ x 2½". In very good condition and most certainly scarce. Estimated Value $800 - 1,000
