Baum, L. Frank. Land of Oz, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz, The Scarecrow of Oz, Ozma of Oz. Four editions of the beloved Wizard of Oz series re-issued in 1959 by The Reilly & Lee Co., Chicago. What makes these four particularly appealing is they all have the original dust jackets by Roland Roycraft. Only eleven of the Oz books were issued in special dust jackets designed by Roland Roycraft and were only a very short time being replaced by the "white cover" editions without dust jackets, which are far more common. Mr Roycraft was a commercial artist with a variety of talents. He spent his later years living in Michigan, teaching watercolor techniques, as well as creating instructional videos and a book. His covers are colorful and no doubt proved appealing in bookstores at the time. All four books are in fine condition. The dust jackets show fading to the spines, have scatterd chipping to edges, and do exhibit in lower margins rippling from moisture and light staining one especially on back side. But overall very colorful and somewhat clean on the facing jackets. Estimated Value $250 - 300
