Hoover, Herbert Clark (1874-1964) 31st President of the United States (1929-1933) who continued to serve the country, most especially after WWII when he was elected chairman of a commission to reorganize the executive departments later known as the Hoover Commission. He was appointed chairman of a similar commission by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953. Both found numerous inefficiencies and ways to reduce waste with the majority enacted. Offered is a signed sepia-toned photo, 9 x 7" of his portrait by acclaimed illustrator Howard Christy completed in 1944 during this period. Signature is on the mat to which the photo has been affixed. Fine condition, with signature bold. Estimated Value $250 - 400
