Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997). Born Diana Spencer, she was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, the heir apparent to the crown behind Queen Elizabeth II. She had two sons and was perhaps the most beloved member of the Royal Family. After intense public scrutiny, she divorced Charles in 1996, but remained the object of worldwide media attention. Her death in a car crash in Paris in August of 1997 shocked the world, inspiring an outpouring of mourning almost unprecedented in modern times. Offered here is a beautiful 8 x 10" color portrait of Diana, resplendent in a green dress at a banquet at Claridges, wearing the Spencer diamond tiara and Queen Mary's cabochon emerald and diamond choker necklace.
