Patton, George S (1885-1945). Celebrated, colorful senior officer of the U.S. Army best known for his aggressive, capable leadership during WWII, most especially his command of the U.S. Third Army in France and Germany following the Allied Invasion of Normandy in June of 1944. Offered is an excellent cut signature dated January 28, 1944, signed boldly in blue fountain pen by General Patton two days after he was formally given command of the Third United States Army in England, where he was assigned to prepare its inexperienced soldiers for combat come that summer. Cut measures 5 x 2½". Estimated Value $400 - 600
