The Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, effectively ending WWII, is captured here in a vintage oversized, black & white, 11 x 14" photo. U.S. Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz signs surrender documents recognizing the defeat of Japan as officials and soldiers look on. Printed matte finish on pulp stock photo has missing right corner tip, minor crease in lower left corner and minor evidence of handling toning throughout.
