Clinton, William Jefferson, Yitzhak Rabin, and Yasser Arafat. An historic moment in the garden of the White House on September 24, 1993, hosted by President Clinton, was the signing of the Oslo Accords between Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat that were brokered the previous August in the hopes of setting up a framework to resolve the long standing Israeli and Palestinian conflict. It was the first face-to-face meeting between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization. The accords called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from parts of the Gaza Strip and West Bank, and affirmed a Palestinian right of self-government. Rabin, Arafat and then foreign minister of Israel, Shimon Peres, all were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize following the accords. Offered is a color photo, 12 x 8", by Gary Hershon with excellent signatures of all three world leaders, although President Clinton's signature was obtained years later -- he has dated his signature "2009".
