Ancient Roman Bronze Mallet Head. Scarce in this quality. Roman empire, circa 1st-2nd century AD. Substantial mallet head of faintly crescentic shape with squared ends and of rectangular section with beveled corners. Overall finely preserved, with pleasant deep earthen to emerald green patina. Length: 6 ¼". As judged by the patina, likely of Roman European origin, probably Germany or Bulgaria. Ends are somewhat flared from use.
Estimated Value $750 - 950.
