Riefenstahl, Leni (b. 1902) German motion-picture actress, producer, photographer, and director who is known for her documentary films of the 1930s dramatizing the pageantry of the Nazi movement.

Signature ("Leni Riefenstahl"). Signed Time Magazine cover. Inscribed in blue ink, "München 2. April 1957." The cover has been professionally reconstructed, there is some scuffing at the spine and some minor curling of the front cover, but otherwise this piece is in very good condition.

The cover picture features Riefenstahl in a bathing suit on skis (the magazine article explains that this was her practice, as she was interested in getting a good tan) while the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics of 1936 were getting underway. The article mentions that Riefenstahl was at the Winter games having fun and doing research for her upcoming project -- filming the summer games in Berlin that same year.
Estimated Value $150 - 200.
