Autograph Letter Signed (as Vice President of the Confederacy), on yellow lined paper, 8 pp. on two letter sheets of 4 pp, each, 7" x 4½", Crawfordsville, Ga., April 29, 1864. With full letter transcription. To "Hon. James A. Seddon (Confederate) Sec. of War." Stephens writes the Secretary of War strongly voicing his opinions and judgments about the economic, social & military disintegration of the Confederacy. Two horizontal folds on each sheet. Fine.
