South West Iranian Stone Tablature Seal, ca. 4000-3000 BC. A rectangular black stone seal, engraved on the two sides and bottom. The obverse is engraved with the image of a quadruped running left and small strokes in the background. The reverse is bears the image of a priest standing left wearing a long robe and holding a scepter; behind, five strokes in a vertical line. The bottom is engraved with three bands with a crook in the middle. Pierced for suspension. Measures: 18 X 13 mm. Estimated Value $250 - 300. Ex Christie’s, London, 23 March 1971, Lot 110 part.
