Koekkoek, Hermanus, Jun. The Day Begins. Hermanus Koekkoek (1836-1909), celebrated Dutch painter specializing in coastal scenes in oil and watercolor. Oil on board measuring 5½" x 9½" framed to 15" x 18" (vintage gilt wood frame, likely from the 1930s is in rough condition, but adds immeasurably to the overall appeal) painting in very fine condition, signed by artist in lower left corner boasting impressive detail and command of light typical of the aritst's very best works.
