8 Signed Portraits of Stars From Late Silents and Early Talkies, Jolson, Astaire, Hope, Lloyd, Rooney and More. Nice collection of vintage original, autographed photos. The 8" x 10" photos include the legendary and very dapper Al Jolson, Jimmy Durante at the piano, Harold Lloyd (dated April 1936 at an award ceremony some emulsion staining on the portly gentleman) Fred Astaire signed in blue fountain pen mostly in white area with the last two letters of Astaire trailing into the dark area, color tinted photo of May Allison major silent screen star of 60 films, then became editor of Photoplay. 7½" x 7½" trimmed yet very striking image and bold inscription and signature of Bob Hope, 7½" x 7½" trimmed early photo and bold signature by Mickey Rooney (photo has emulsion foxing throughout but signature in fountain pen excellent) and finally a beautiful sepia toned signed portrait 9" x 7½" of Lois Wilson. a major actress in silent film (over 110 films) but with a career in talkies that lasted through 1950. All the photos show minor evidence of wear but the signatures all excellent and the images overall quite striking.
