Hemingway, Ernest (July 1899-1961 American novelist, short-story writer and journalist. His distinctive writing style is characterized by economy and understatement and he had a significant influence on the development of twentieth century fiction. Hemingway's stoic protagonists are often seen as projections of his own character- men who must show grace under pressure. Hemingway became acquainted with Lisa Molony due to her role as the business manager of the local newspaper. Hardcover, original blue cloth covers with embossed Hemingway signature on front board, 8vo., 262 pp. The binding is tight, and the boards are crisp with a hint of wear to the edges.
