Collection of French Military Ephemera, Brass Panel Tank Instructions, Gas Mask & Eye Chart. A very rare driver's brass instruction panel removed from a Renault FT-17 light tank which proved to be the most revolutionary and influential tank designs in history with crew in front, engine in back and fully rotating gun turret, all produced circa 1918. Panel has been nicely mounted on wood for presentation instructions are in French and reads something close to The lateral clutches must not be employed for cornering. Engage the foot gently releasing the pedal gradually. Notice very important. Never start the engine while stopped must be launched by hand. In rapid descent do not stay in 1st thru 4th gear Second, a mid-1938 military/civilian issue gas mask in original paper cask. TYPE: T.C. 38 and scarce. Mask is complete but due to its 75+ years the leather surrounding face area is stiff, but all straps attached, and eyepieces intact but again very stiff. Mask measures 12" tall. Original pulp paper container in excellent condition and is 12" by 5". Finally a WWI era French military eye chart in original metal tube. All interesting pieces.
