Collection of Military Optical Equipment, Busch WWII Era German Flakglass. First an, Emil Busch WWII era 10 x 80 binoculars commonly referred to as flakglass used for surveillance, spotting and directional. Looks to have had several layers of white paint at the time. In good working order, adjustment of optical width adjustment very tight sue to base plate which could be adjusted. Normal wear and scratches on black painted surfaces, but lenses quite clean and bright. Forehead rest in very good condition. Distance viewing and clarity very strong. No box. Weight is 15½ pounds a consideration if shipping overseas. The mid-1940s German optical companies had reached a highpoint of design and technical innovation and manufacturing for large-aperture binoculars clearly evident here. Note: for astronomers, these pieces restored have been found to be excellent for use due to their wide field of view which evidently at present has no equal. Cloudynights.com has an excellent, informed article regarding these pieces and restoration for such use.
