Lot 176

Collection of Vingtage French Optical Equipment, WWII Puteaux SRPI 10 x 60 and Tri-pod. Large WWII era SRPI Puteaux 10 x 60. 15" in length 9" wide and weighing a robust 22 lbs. In overall excellent condition with only minor chipping of white paint around metal edges of eyepieces. But the lenses are clear and bright virtually without scratches and the distance magnification amazing. Adjustments all in working order. Comes in wooden box painted in grey/blue that certainly displays wear having no markings or plates to its contents and weighs just over 10 pounds. Total combined weight approaches 35 pounds. We are including the only tri-pod in the collection with this piece as this how Mr. White had this particular equipment displayed and for use to view downtown LA from his high perch in the hills. Not exactly a secure fit but it worked. Tri-pod is virtually new, likely heavy-duty surveyor's use given the spiked metal feet and comes in its canvas and leather bag with strap and is in near mint condition measuring 41" when legs collapsed extending to almost 60. Shipped in two packages, and due to weight and size buyer to arrange shipping with outside service.
Estimated Value $400 - 600.
Estate of Alexander White III.

Realized $1,560
