Young, Brigham (1801-1877) President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1847 until his death in 1877. He founded Salt Lake City and served as the first governor of the Utah Territory.

Autograph letter signed ("Brigham Young"), 1 page, 8½ x 5¼ in., Great Salt Lake City, April 12, 1860. To "Bro. Horace": "In making these purchases it may be necessary to buy some on a credit. Now, I do not wish you to press the matter unless it is done willingly and on the terms I desire. Otherwise we had better do without although the articles I am sending for are very much needed here. Especially the stool. In giving Notes I think they allow six month or more without interest. I wish you to get the longest time possible on your notes, and without interest until they are due." Ink is slightly faded but completely legible.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500.
Ex William "Bill" Steiner Collection.

Realized $1,980
